Charles Reginald Henderson, Jr., age 88, of Eutaw, Ala., died, Thursday, September 21, 2017, at his residence. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2017, at Eutaw Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Mesopotamia Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles "Charlie" Reginald Henderson, Sr. and Sue Ella Drummond Henderson of Eutaw; brothers, David L. Henderson, Jerry D. Henderson, and Harold Henderson; sisters, Peggy Henderson Stuckey, and Sue Ellen Henderson Cochran and twins who passed away soon after birth. Survivors include: daughters, Wanda Henderson Johns (Bob), Sue "Cathy" Henderson Ryder (Bob) and Cynthia "Lou" Henderson Holloway (Wayne); sons, Charles R. "Pete" Henderson, III (Pam) and Steven Jackson (Pam); sisters, Linda Henderson Fontaine and Patsy Henderson Rankin (Hal); brother, Jesse J. Henderson (Pam); grandchildren, Benjamin Johns, Daniel Johns, (Nichole), Eddie Green, Melissa Green, Amber Holloway, Jacob Jackson, Madeline Jackson, Heather Booth and Melanie Booth; great-grandchildren, Katelyn Johns, Mackenzie Johns, Jameson Lancaster and Liam Shoemaker. Reginald was an active member of his town. Besides being a postal worker for 35+ years, he was also a city council member, a volunteer fireman, a paramedic, a plumber, and electrician, and was active in the Lions Club, Civitan, 40&8, VFW and a host of other organizations. Reginald started his military career with the Navy in 1952. He then switched to the Army and was deployed to Germany during the Korean Conflict. After his deployment, he joined the National Guard and at his retirement, had 41 years of service to his country. Pallbearers will be Lynn Stuckey, Jr., Derrick Stuckey, Benjamin Johns, Jacob Jackson, Kenneth Dodd, Bennie Abrams, Michael Stuckey and Daniel Johns. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Steve Lovelady and staff, breakfast friends at Roebuck's Landing, Hospice of West Alabama and employees, caring/loving sitters and friends: Lue Edmonds, Cora Carter, Amber Holloway, Amanda Green, Athelyn Jordan, Cora Nickson, Elizabeth Clark, and Eula Travis. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you please make donations to your favorite charity, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or Eutaw Ambulance, Eutaw Volunteer Fire Department, of Hospice of West Alabama.
