Cecil Ray Holemon, 89, of Tuscaloosa passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at 11:00 am at Magnolia Chapel South with Dolan Davis, Jr. officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Mr. Holemon will be laid to rest in Little Sandy Baptist Church Cemetery.
Cecil was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Virginia Hunt Holemon; parents, Curtis William Holemon and Eula Vale Holemon: his brother Curtis Holemon and his sister, Faye Holeman Pemberton.
He is survived by his brother, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Cecil was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him here on earth, but Heaven received a precious soul.
Pallbearers will be J.D. Hill, Park Evans, Clint Lockridge, Casen Lockridge, Carter Lockridge, Caleb Lockridge, Homer L. Nelson, Carl Walker, Doug Walker, and Edward Cook.
Honorary pallbearers are nieces, nephews, and their children who lovingly called him “PaPa”, Little Sandy Baptist Church, Valley View Baptist Church, employees of Jim Walter Coal Mines #4, members of Sandy Fork, Backside Lodge hunting club; Dr. Grier Stewart, J. Curtis Tucker, Staff of Hospice of West Alabama; Gary Newman, Bob Chavis, John Walker, Dolan and Vicki Davis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
