Carol Youngblood Newton
TUSCALOOSA - Carol Youngblood Newton, age 65, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., went to be with Jesus on May 18, 2018. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South with Pastor Randy Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 22, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton H. and Miriam (Pridmore) Youngblood and her husband, John G. Newton, Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, Tracey Stith (Phillip) of Tuscaloosa; sisters, Susan Youngblood of Schertz, Texas, Sarah Jane Baxter (Donny) and Cathy Y. Ingram (Dennis) of Tuscaloosa; mother-in-law, Jeanette C. Newton sister-in-law, Lane Newton of Tuscaloosa; and grandchildren, Jackson Stith and Abigail Stith of Tuscaloosa.
Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She wasGod-loving more than all she retired from the United States Army Corps of Engineers and FEMA.
Pallbearers will be Otis Wilson, Mike Stuckey, Phillip Stith, Donny Baxter, Robert G. Baxter and Dennis Ingram.Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Keith and Carol DeBell, Daphne Wilson, Vicki Dockery, United States Army Corps of Engineers (past and present), Fred and Jan Sawyer and Billy, Tammy and Joanna Gulledge.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research and the American Heart Association.
