Bruce Pearson

Bruce Paul Pearson, age 88, of Tuscaloosa, died April 23, 2016. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2016, in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Magnolia Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be from 12 noon- 1:30 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2016, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South. He was preceded in death by his wives, Nan Gibson Haley Pearson and Eloise Martin Pearson; parents, William Andrew and Edna Dorothy Pearson; three brothers, Oscar, Stanley and Manley Pearson; and three sisters, Maybell Williams, Dorothy Cantwell and Analda Atchison. Survivors include his daughters, Kathy Smith (Brad) and Debbie Haley Perkins (Steve); sons, Barry Pearson (Cissy) and Robert Haley (Jeanette); grandchildren, Trey Smith (Kris), Kim Fetzger (Evan), Laura Smith, Haley Strickland (Matt), Brett Pearson (Kami), Casey Cain (Brian), Trevor Pearson, Josh Haley (Beverly) and Kari Lancaster (Dax); and nine great grandchildren. He was an Army Veteran serving one year in Korea. During his military career he received the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal-Japan. He retired from B.F. Goodrich after 38 years of service. He was a long time member of Central Church of Christ where he served in multiple ministries. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Pearson, Dale Pearson, Matt Strickland, Evan Fetzger, Mike Allen and Gil Allen. Honorary pallbearers are John and Sara Allen and John and Janice Smelser. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama or Central Church of Christ Building Fund. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Ramona Wright his long time caregiver, for her devotion.
