Billy Ray Davis TUSCALOOSA Billy Ray Davis, age 70, of Tuscaloosa, died June 6, 2013, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2013, at Magnolia Funeral Home South, with Dr. Billy Joy and Mr. Steve Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Magnolia Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Parham Davis; his parents, Bill and Ileane Davis; in-laws, Adrian and Lola Parham; and son-in-law, Mike Booth. Survivors include daughters, Vicki Duren (Ray) and Dana Hager (Scott)l son, Ricky Davis (Demetrice); grandchildren, Cory Davis (Lesley), Ryne Duren (Katelyn Armstrong), Chase Davis (Sarah Lewis), Davis Booth (Kaitlyn Koester), Morgan Hager and Brody Hager. Billy Ray was born October 18, 1942. Billy Ray and Carol were married May 28, 1960, while still in high school. They spent 45 years together. Billy Ray worked for McAbee Construction and was a member of Ironworkers Local 92. He loved sitting outside watching the sunset, listening to good music, and above all else a good conversation where he was the lead talker. He was a good provider for his family and a true friend to those he held close. He will be missed by many. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and Herschel Ryan. Honorary Pallbearers are members of Tuscaloosa County Moose Lodge 804, Tuscaloosa Elks Lodge 393, Dr. Brent Tidwell Chiropractic and staff, and Tuscaloosa High School class of 1961. Special thanks to Doctors Joe Wallace, Debra Davis, Bryan Givhan, and staff of TSICU, and Special Honorary Pallbearer, Dr. Dave Harding. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Valley View Baptist Church Building Fund or the American Diabetes Association .
