Betty Joyce Washburn Hughey

Betty Joyce Washburn Hughey, 85, of Greensboro, Al died January 1,2025 at home surrounded by her family. She was born June 5,1939 daughter of the late Ethel Barnett Washburn and Clarance Wilson “Buck” Washburn of Perry County. 

She is survived by 2 sons, Greg (Jenny)Hughey, Akron, AL, Darrell (Kasey) Hughey, Greensboro, AL and 1 daughter, Daphne (John) Livingston, Moundville, AL. Grandchildren, Travis (Lindsey) Hughey, Tuscaloosa, AL, Katie (Brandon) Davidson, Coaling, AL, Alyssa (Cody) Howell, Moundville, AL, Garrett (Jael) Livingston, Moundville, AL, Logan Livingston, Moundville, AL, and Emma Lane Hughey, Greensboro, AL. 6 great-grandchildren, Alaina Hughey, Hudson Maurice Hughey, James Howell, Rylie Howell, Ryder Howell and Brylen Livingston, sister in law Alice Washburn, brothers Tommy Washburn (Regina) and Glenn Washburn along with numerous extended family. 

She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Irving Maurice Hughey, brother,Wilson Washburn, sisters-in- law Annie Grace (Harvey) Lauderback, Joan Washburn and Glenda Washburn and brothers-in-law Wayne (Margret) Hughey, Gerald (Ann) Hughey, Marvin (Geraldine) Hughey. 

Services will be Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Hopewell Baptist Church with 1 pm visitation and 2 pm services. 

 Pallbearers are Travis Hughey, Bryan Hughey, Brandon Davidson, Cody Howell, Garrett Livingston, and Logan Livingston. Honorary Pallbearers are Rebecca Mickens, Brittney Phillips, staff of Southern Care-New Beacon Hospice, Maureen Allen, and Alfeda Morris Hazelrig, 

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery fund or charity of your choice.
