Bernard Clifton Martin Jr. | MOUNDVILLE Bernard Clifton Martin, Jr., age 84, of Moundville, died June 11, 2010, at home. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Stewart United Methodist Church with Rev. Reba Wiley officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery in Stewart, Ala. with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. The body will lie in state from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. prior to services at the church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eloise Phares Martin; parents, Bernard and Mildred Martin; and sister, Mary Frances Plummer. Survivors include his wife, Juanita W. Martin; daughter, Janet (Donnie) McKemie; son, Tommy (Rhonda) Martin; brother, William C. "Buddy"� Martin; step-sons, Tim (Penny) Bonds and Jim (Linda) Bonds; grandchildren, Jamie (Jennifer) McKemie, Ashley (Chad) Campbell, Laura McKemie, Michael Martin, Rachel Martin, Jonathan (Kristen) Snell, Michael, Joanna, Daniel, Mattie, Sara and Kathryn Bonds; and great-grandchild, Dosson McKemie. Mr. Martin retired after 37 years at Plantation Pipe Line. He also served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Mr. Martin was a life-long resident of the Stewart community and a member of Stewart United Methodist Church. He was a kind and caring person loved by everyone. Pallbearers will be Mervin Hoggle, Billy Stokes, Frank Stegall, Kent McCray, Johnny McGahey, Jimmy Payne, Scott Mayfield and Rick McClelland. Honorary pallbearers are Stewart United Methodist Church family and friends of the Stewart community. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Stewart Community Association, 2921 County Road 59, Moundville, AL., 35474, or one's favorite charity.
