Benjamin Chism "Ben", age 92, of Coker, AL, passed away peacefully at his home on May 23, 2021, surrounded by family. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at Bone Camp Methodist Church with Bro. Gary Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Bone Camp Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Ben was born November 15, 1928 on Tanyard Street in Northport to Leon and Ruth Chism. After school he joined the U.S. Army and served with the 92nd AFA Battalion known as "The Red Devils". He returned to Northport after the Korean Conflict and married Dorothy Barclay. A couple of years later, he moved to his beloved farm on Chism Trace and remained there until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Syble Noland Mullins; two sons, Mike (Carolyn) and Eddie (Tammie) of Northport; and stepson, Danny Mullins (Jennifer) of Jackson, MS; and one brother, Walter (Doug). He had two grandsons, Todd (Michele) and Zach (Laura) and two granddaughters, Melanie (Tim) and Amber (Bryant) of Northport. His love and delight was his great-grands, Christian, William, Hunter, Bailey, LilyAnna, Leona, Elliott and Owen who lived close and visited him regularly; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy; one brother, Fred; and sisters, Sarah, Magdaline, Sue, Mildred and Eleanor.
After 38 years at B.F. Goodrich, Ben enjoyed traveling with this family and in the Camper Group. He continued to travel until his illness. His Army "Red Devil" reunions were a never-miss and he traveled all over the country.
He will be laid to rest with his wife, his parents and brothers and sisters at Bone Camp Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel handling the service.

Honorary pallbearers: Members of Bone Camp Methodist Church; Ann Malone and her four sons, Frankie, Stuart, Terry and Reggie; Tracy Malone and her two daughters, Ryleigh and Reagan; Dr. Clinton McEntyre; and Hospice nurse, Brittany.
