Becky was born February 5, 1960 into a loving bluegrass family. Some of her favorite memories were made pickin' and grinnin' in Brownville and later at a family home called The Plantation where she , her sister and cousins performed in a group called The Thumb Sisters. In 1977 she met the love of her life when she walked into Lang's Sporting Goods in Tuscaloosa. Becky and Jerome married in April of 1979. Well.... eventually. She was two hours late for the wedding. Together they raised three daughters in the dust of an Alabama dirt track where he raced and she was the announcer. Becky also worked at Kroger for eighteen years and made many lifelong friends. After Kroger, she went to work for the Tuscaloosa County School System so her daughters could attend Northside High School. It was there that "Mrs. Becky" found her true passion, enriching the lives of young people. There has never been a louder, more fun library. Later she worked for The University of Alabama in the Crossing Points Program, there she gave her students the same courage and confidence that she instilled in the lives of all the young people she touched. One part of Becky's life that gave her the most joy was being a grandmother. She loved to spoil her grand kids. She was blessed with one granddaughter and two grandsons. She spent countless hours riding them around on the golf cart at the river, attending various recitals and baseball games. After the birth of her grand kids, Becky simply became known as B. Mrs. Becky was one of a kind. She never met a stranger and lived a life of love, laughter, and FUN!
Pallbearers will be Rex Montgomery, Vince Montgomery, Jeff Holloway, Michael Shirley, Kevin Sullivan, Curt Jamerson, Lane Sanford, Patrick Watson, Brian Sullivan, Terry Holemon, Darren Sullivan, and Timmy Holemon.
