COTTONDALE - On Sunday, January 28, 2019, Barry Lee Johnson, son, father, Papa and friend passed away at the age of 55, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on February 22, 1963 in Tuscaloosa County, Barry was preceded in death by his father, Rossie "RL" Lee Johnson, Jr.; and mother, Bobbie Ray Hutchins Johnson.
He is survived by his three sons, Brandon Lee Johnson (Katie), Justin Dwain Johnson (Jennifer) and Bobby Shane Johnson (Amber). Barry was a Papa of two grandchildren, Piper Kathryn Johnson and Ashton Dwain Johnson.
Barry was a very special man to his life-long special friend, Sandra A. Hayes of Cottondale, Ala.; his special aunts, Paulette Albright and Joy Levins; several cousins; and many friends of the Hargrove Road Community.
Barry will be forever loved and remembered by his family, friends, and dogs, George Jones and Little Bit.
Barry had a passion for coon hunting. He loved to hear his dogs treeing. He loved to be with his boys deer and coon hunting-doing what he loved to do. He loved seeing and playing with Piper and Ashton.
A special thanks goes to the helping hands of DCH staff and MICU2, and extra special thanks to Dr. Shah.
His memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church located on Hargrove Road East in Cottondale, AL 35453 with Ray Hallman officiating.
