Barbara Pruitt

Barbara Boyd Pruitt AKRON Barbara "Kissie" Boyd Pruitt, age 64, of Akron, died April 13, 2013, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Eternal Faith Church in Peterson with Pastor John Stephens and Rev. Jerry Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Cemetery in Jackson, Miss., with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation with the body lying in state will be two hours prior to services at the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dudley Pruitt; her parents, Buck and Arlevie Boyd; sister, Jodi Gregg; and brothers, Harvey, Hoppy and Randy Boyd. Survivors include her sons, Arlie (Patricia) Sellers, Tracy (Kelley) Waldon, James Pruitt, and Steve (C.W.) Pruitt; daughter, Carol Pruitt; sister, Martha "Mott" Boyd; and a host of special nieces and nephews, (once removed). Mrs. Pruitt was a member of the American Legion in Jackson, Miss., the Moose Lodge in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Eternal Faith Church. Pallbearers will be Bruce Waldon, Chey Waldon, Jarett Waldon, Shane Fondren, Ethan Fondren, and Ty Corbell. Honorary pallbearers are Eternal Faith Church and West Brookwood Church. The family would like to express a very special "Thank You" to William Slawson with appreciation and love. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
