Barbara Blanton

Barbara Kay Blanton, 77, of Tuscaloosa, passed away on April 5, 2017 at her home in Tuscaloosa. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on April 15, 2017 at Cottondale United Methodist Church, with Reverend Charles Herron and Reverend Mike Holland, officiating. Arrangements are by Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South. Barbara was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Lamar John and Etta Louise Pearson on March 14, 1940. She graduated from Tuscaloosa High School. She married Arnold Rayford Blanton on September 27, 1958 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She received her Nursing degree from Shelton State Community College. She worked in the medical field as a nurse for more than 30 years. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Lamar and Eta Pearson and her brother, Samuel Pearson. Barbara is survived by her husband of 58 years, Arnold Blanton, her sons Arnold "Chip"� Blanton, Jr. (Corrine), Ron "Ronnie"� Blanton (Rosemyra) and Barry Blanton (Melisa); her sister Jan Pearson Brandon; sister-in-law Brenda Pearson; niece Lisa Hicks; great niece Alex Ann Hicks; eight grandchildren Chad, Julie, Blair, Ashley, Kayley, Cruz Braden and Brody; and five great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of West Alabama.
