Archel Chester "Buster"� King MOUNDVILLE - Archel Chester ""Buster"" King, age 77, of Moundville, died January 17, 2017, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2017, at Indian Mound Baptist Church in Moundville, Ala. with Rev. Charles Spence officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Evelyn King; brother, Leon King; grandchild, Owen Lee Davis; and great-grandchild, Nathaniel LeeScott Ball. Survivors his wife, Nancy Sutphin King; daughters, Dolly Hager (Bill) of Madison, W. Va., Devona Morris (Rick) of Jacksonville, Fla., Vanessa Ball (Roy) of Hewett, W. Va. and Julia Banks (Toby) of Moundville, Ala.; sons, Jack Adkins (Becky) of Brookwood, Ala., Tim Green (Tina) of Pensacola, Fla. and Eric King (Jessica) of Brookwood, Ala.; sister, Beatrice Mooney (Willie) of Loudendale, W. Va.; brother, Ernest Howard King II of Uneeda, W. Va.; fur babies, Hunter, Prissy, Nike, Muffin and Oscar; 25 grandchildren; and 52 great-grandchildren. Buster was raised in W. Va. He was a United States Navy veteran. His coal mining career brought him to Alabama in 1984. He and Nancy lived in Pa. and Fla. before settling back in Alabama in 2012. Buster made friends wherever he lived. He loved worshipping the Lord with his church family and had an abundance of love for his family. He also had a passion for animals and the military. Pallbearers will be Eric King, Howard King, Justin Simmons, Chris Simmons, Tim Green, Jack Adkins, Steven Adkins, Toby Banks, Tim Charcandy and Chris Larzo. Honorary pallbearers are Christine Gunnoe, Russell, David, Rodney, Jerry and Buddy Sutphin and David Bias. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Buster's memory to Indian Mound Baptist Church, The American Cancer Society , The COPD Foundation or the local animal shelter.
