On March 4, 2025 Anna June Ammons departed this Earth and made her journey to Heaven. She is now home with her Savior, Jesus Christ, her beloved husband, Eslin and other family and friends.

When she entered a room, the first thing one would notice was her beautiful smile. She was always smiling and she loved to laugh. Even though in her later years she was racked with pain, she tried to never let it show. She was the same happy, smiling and loving person, no matter her circumstances. Anna loved people and it showed. She was kind to everyone she encountered and loved to offer encouragement and positive thoughts.

Anna loved Jesus and her family and was a devoted wife and mother. As Eslin was always on the road (as a truck driver), Anna gladly shouldered the responsibility of raising her children and making sure all their needs were met. Her family was her life. She was such a tremendous role model for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and in-laws. She was in constant prayer for all of us.

She is and will always be missed by all who knew her. Anna touched so many lives in the very best way and the void she left when she departed, will never be filled. The following is a poem that was written especially for her:

Missing Nanny

We miss you so much Nanny and we always will.

When we think of you in the quiet of night and when all is still,

We will remember your smile, your kindness and the love you gave.

We will remember your quiet strength, your compassion and gentle ways.

When times are difficult and everything seems to be going in the wrong direction,

We will think of how you encouraged us, and showered us with so much affection.

During the holidays, as we celebrate, share good times and look around the room,

We will focus on where you always sat, feeling a tinge of sadness that you're gone

and time passed all too soon.

We will remember the times you flirted with doctors and joked so much about it.

How you told them how handsome they were and carried on while Bridget was having a laughing fit.

When we go out to eat for a Sunday lunch at one of your favorite places

We will remember the fun that you and Granny had, and the laughter and those smiling faces. Yes Nanny, we will all miss you so much and we will miss you always. We will miss you in the bad times and on the good days.

We will miss everything about you; we will miss you and we will hurt.

You won't be here to help us through our sadness when we long to see you, but we know you will meet us at the gates of Heaven and some how that just works.

Pallbearers will be Adam Gilliland, Christian Hicks, Johnny King, Josh Pavlovec, Jackson Pavlovec and Chris Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Campbell, her compassionate caregivers and friends - Kathy Judd, Sherry Booker, Margie Hagler, and Jasmine Brown. A special thanks to the staff of Hospice of West Alabama.
