Ann Hamner McCracken, age 87, of Ralph, Alabama, died April 8, 2018, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Arthur Thomas and Rev. David Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Baptist Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, S. J. McCracken, Jr.; mother, Lesta Evans Hamner; father, Artis C. Hamner; and brothers, George Warren Hamner and Donald Hamner.
Survivors include her daughters, Kay Presley (Don), Cecie Tanner and Sue Webster (Harry); sons, Johnny McCracken and Ron McCracken (Janet); sister, Beth H. Brown (Joe); brother, Earl Hamner (Betty); 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She passed away peacefully at home. Reared in the Romulus community, she was a homemaker and a Pastor's wife for 54 years. She worked at a clothing manufacturer as well as being an expert seamstress (clothing her girls). She was an unsung hero in service to her community.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and her grandsons-in-law.
Honorary pallbearers are Shiloh Baptist Church and community members, employees of Amedysis Hospice, and caregiver, Lorene Sanders.
