Alvin Harold Evans TUSCALOOSA Alvin Harold Evans, age 65, of Tuscaloosa, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Cedar Oak Memorial Park with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Harold was born March 9, 1947, in Savannah, Ga. to James Alton Evans and Gladys Marie Deason. He was preceded in death by his father, James Alton Evans; a brother, Jerry Wayne Evans; and a sister, Jeanette Evans. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Edith Andrea Evans; his mother, Gladys Marie Deason; his brother, James Evans and his wife Julia of Dallas, Texas; his sister, Phyllis Ross and her husband Larry of Cottondale; as well as several nieces and nephews. Harold served as a Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corps for 11 years. Although he did not attend organized religious services after his experiences in Vietnam, he believed in God and knew that Jesus Christ was his Savior. He was employed by Kuykendall Powell Oil Company for the past 17 years and will be greatly missed by all of his friends and colleagues. Pallbearers will be Buddy Powell, Tripp Powell, Jim Evans, Larry Ross, James Ross, and Daryl Lemley.
