Alma Avery Price Kizziah, age 89, of Northport, died Jan. 17, 2012, at Heritage Health Care. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Little Hurricane Baptist Church with Rev. George Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to services at the church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, J.W. Price and Charles C. Kizziah, and nine siblings. Survivors include her daughter, Ruth P. Nuckols (Gorman); her stepdaughter, Nanci McGonagle; her stepson, Gordon Kizziah (Janice); her sister, Velma Chaney; her brother, Dan Avery (Wreatha); special sister-in-law, Faye Avery; her sisters-in-law, Patsy Archibald, Alice Kizziah, Earline Kizziah, and Martha Price; her grandchildren, Johnny Nuckols (Cindy Fitts) and Tammy Booth (Kim); and her great-grandchildren, Jennifer Hughes (Jesse) and Dusty Watson. Pallbearers will be her nephews. Honorary pallbearers are Heritage Nursing Home, Hospice of West Alabama, Brooke Jackson, and friends of the Northside, Piney Woods, and Little Hurricane communities. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
