Agnes Horton

Agnes B. Horton, age 88, of Northport, died Dec. 16, 2011, in Columbus, Miss. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Bethabara Baptist Church with Pastor Mac McGrath and Rev. Jerry Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Paul "Dick" Horton; daughter, Nancy Traweek; son, David H. Horton; and great-grandson, Josh Skelton. Survivors include her son, James W. Horton (Evelyn) of Columbus, Miss.; daughter, Mary Reese of Northport; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandkids. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother of the Baptist faith. Pallbearers will be James S. Horton, Chris Horton, Paul Horton, John Horton, Dylan Horton, Cole Horton, James Paul Horton, and Nicholas Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Brownville community, Baptist Home Health in Columbus, Miss., and Hospice of West Alabama.
