AD Parker NORTHPORT - AD Parker, age 82, of Northport, Ala., died August 3, 2016, at Noland Hospital of Tuscaloosa. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Reverends Jerry Croft and Mike Spivey officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Rowland Parker; son, Darrell Ross Parker; parents, Ed and Bertha Parker; brothers, Cliff, Earnest and JD; and sisters, Pearl and Earline. He is survived by his son, George Harold Parker; daughter-in-law, Lisa Pounds Parker; and a host of nieces and nephews. AD served in the United States Army 47th Infantry Division. He worked as a pressman with the Tuscaloosa News before retiring from the B.F. Goodrich Tire Plant. He could fix anything, loved sports, hunting, fishing and growing tomatoes. Pallbearers will be Tony Caldwell, Don Caldwell, Ron Rowland, Lee Rowland, Beau Massengale and Dale Cargile. Honorary Pallbearers are Sue Faulkner, friends and neighbors of the 5th Street community, doctors, nurses and staff of MICU at DCH Redgioal Medical Center, Noland Hospital, retirees of The Tuscaloosa News, B.F. Goodrich, employees of McAbee Construction and members of Northport Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made Northport Methodist Church or your favorite charity .
