Annette Tesney Kilpatrick, age 75, of Tuscaloosa, passed peacefully to her maker with family by her side on October 1, 2021.
Annette was born in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on January 19, 1946, to James and Maudine Tesney as the oldest of three children. She graduated from Tuscaloosa High School and The University of Alabama nursing school as an RN. She married her husband, Edward, in 1972, and had two children. She worked in various departments at AMI Northport and DCH Regional Medical center doing what she loved - taking care of others. Six months after the passing of her husband, the 2011 Tuscaloosa tornado severely damaged their home with her inside. With assistance from her family and friends, she rebuilt before retiring in 2012 - only to continue her life of care and service volunteering at DCH and assisting elementary students in the Tuscaloosa City School system.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Kilpatrick; her brother, David Tesney; her parents, James and Maudine Tesney; and parents-in-law, James D. and Rebecca Kilpatrick.
Survivors include son, Jason Kilpatrick (Monika) of Fort Worth, TX; daughter, Rose Anne Hiner (Eric) of Charlottesville, Va.; four grandchildren, Jacob Kilpatrick, Tesney Hiner, Emma Kilpatrick, and Liam Kilpatrick; brother, Steve Tesney (Sandy) of Guntersville; sister-in-law, Dr. Edeth Stohs (Sid); Nieces and nephews, Courtney Monnette (Paul) of Birmingham, Michael Tesney of Birmingham, Mark Tesney of Birmingham, and Beau Tesney of Guntersville.
The family wishes to thank the medical team from The Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center as well as DCH Regional Medical center and her friends during these times.
As per her wishes, entombment followed in the Magnolia Chapel Mausoleum next to her husband. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to The Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer.
