Berthalene Holloway NORTHPORT - Berthalene Holloway passed in peace at the age of 89, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2018, at Phillips Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Jerry Montgomery and Bro. Kenny Overstreet officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be Thursday, January 25, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pearl Galloway; husband, J. B. Holloway; son, Ronnie Holloway; daughter, Deidra Holloway; sister, Blonnell Clark; three brothers, Raiford, Guin and Douglas Galloway; son-in-law, James Roy Skelton; daughter-in-law, Gail Holloway. Survivors include her two daughters, Loretta Skelton and Sandra Holloway; two sons, Jimmy Holloway and Kenny Holloway (Deborah; sister, Betty Guy (Bertis); brother, David Galloway (Terry); in-laws, Duell Holloway (Anglyn), Sue Montgomery, Tootsie Sullivan (Arnold), Jet Holeman, Michael Shelton (Andrea), Jason Mitchell (MiHo), Stephanie Hicks (Matt) Lindsey Prescott (Lee) and Brittany Smith (Keith); step grandchildren, Lynn, Sandy, Sheila, LuAnn and Tim; great-grands, Anna Morgan and Davis Shelton, Will and Henry Hicks, Kaine and Kaden Prescott, Khloe, Korbin and Knox Smith. This amazing woman has so many names in all of our hearts, her smile and her spirit will remain. She received joy by giving it away. She was a quiet woman that allowed herself to recognize how good things really are. She found joy in her journey now let's celebrate her life. Until we see our Meme again, we will love and miss you, Mom. Pallbearers will be Lee Prescott, Keith Smith, Billy Galloway, Mark Guy, Jeff Holloway, Darren Sullivan, Terry Holeman and Vince Montgomery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Phillips Chapel Cemetery Fund.
