Condolence From: Margo Simmons
Condolence:
Please accept my sincere condolences for your recent loss. My heart goes out to you and your family. I have always received comfort from the Bibles’ word at Philippians 4:7 which reads “and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your heart and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus”.
I hope you can receive comfort from these words as well. Margo Simmons

Condolence: Having just moved to Tuscaloosa from a small town in North Alabama to attend The University of Alabama, I was fortunate to meet a wonderful, Christian lady by the name of Doris Thompson. Mrs. Thompson opened her home and her heart to me and we have been friends for over 30 years. I remember fondly attending a morning Bible study with Mrs. Thompson. The food she provided was wonderful but the hugs and fellowship made a difference in my life. She never once judged me about anything that I shared with her but was always encouraging. She taught me so much about having a personal relationship with Christ. We weathered many challenges together and she was such a source of inspiration and a prayer warrior. During phone conversations, she would tell me about every member of her family and it always sounded like each one was her favorite. That was one of the special things about Mrs. Thompson----I always left her presence feeling better and feeling loved. During our last conversation I had the opportunity to tell her how special she was to me and how much I loved her. The last few days, I have laughed out loud and cried tears of heartbreak as memories of times with her have come to my mind. 1 John 3: 18 is the Bible verse that describes Doris Thompson to me--"Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth." Thank you for your mentorship and loving actions. I look forward to seeing you again. What a day, glorious day, that will be! My deepest sympathy to Neill, Delayne, Randy and Tootsie and all of your families. My prayers are with all of you.......Carla

Condolence From: Beatrice Rodgers
Condolence: My condolences to the Thompson families. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of dear Doris. Some Bible scriptures that have helped me during times of loss include Isaiah 26:19 and Psalm 37:28,29 which states in part: "Your dead ones will live...They will rise up". And the Bible also says "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will forever reside upon it". Therefore the Bible promises that we may be reunited with our loved ones lost in death by means of an earthly resurrection. This is further confirmed by John 5:28,29 which says "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". This is possible thanks to Jesus Christ's ransom sacrifice. Thus we have a genuine hope of everlasting life in a world without wickedness or suffering.
